We believe all paths to meditation are created equal. Whether you prefer a mindfulness based approach or you’d like to explore various techniques of meditative practice, we’ll help you discover which method works best for you so you can relax and become aware of the stillness within. This wide range of classes gives you the freedom to find your own way into a meditative state of connection.
CLASSES
If I’m new to meditation where should I start?
We recommend our Intro to Meditation class as a great place to begin your practice. This class focuses on the fundamentals of meditation and guides you through a 40 minute session. You’ll be introduced to a few methods of focusing the mind and then you will be invited to try them out while your guide talks you through the inner landscape. Once you feel comfortable you can sample various other styles of classes including Self Guided Stillness, Moving Meditation, Working with Emotions, Mantra Meditation, Meditation for Sleep and more.

What should I wear to class?
We don’t require you to wear any specific type of clothing for class. We do recommend you wear something comfortable to sit in for the duration of class. We ask guests to remove their shoes and boots at the door so you may wish to wear or bring socks if you wish.
Do I need to bring my own cushion?
The Present offers cushions, chairs and Zen benches so that meditation is accessible to all. You’re welcome to bring your own materials if you prefer however we offer all the essentials (zafus, zabutons, blankets etc.) to help make you as comfortable as possible throughout your class.
